TEAM SLAP

We at House of Slap are a family, as a core team our common dominator is Jesus Christ. We all endeavor to reach the urban culture with the Gospel. How we do that? In the words of our Street Team Director Wordsmith, “Glad you ask!” Our mission is “To effectively reach our urban culture with the Word of God through innovative hip-hop elements, as we intently empower and equip disciples to impact the world.” (Matt. 28:19)

CORE TEAM:

PhotobucketIn 2007 Transparent began taking over the gospel music scene by storm. In March, he won the American Christian Talent Search and in June he participated in the CMA. Nearly two years later on January 27th, 2009, Transparent released his eagerly awaited debut album “L.I.F.E.”(Living In Favor Everyday), which has been globally recognized. In September 2009, “L.I.F.E” was released in Australia followed by a two-week promotional tour (his third tour in Australia). While touring he was privileged to minister in Melbourne and Brisbane Australia. On November 21st, 2009, Transparent performed live in front of 11,000 spectators, plus the millions who viewed this on the SHOWTIME network. On this special night, Transparent brought to the ring the Super Middleweight Boxing Champion Andre “SOG” Ward, with his worship/rap anthem “The GREATEST”.

Today, Transparent has ministered at approximately 250 different venues across the world (Churches, Cruises, High Schools, Colleges, Talent shows, and Award shows). Every Sunday, he currently ministers to the youth and guards at the Solano County Juvenile Hall and uplifts and inspires them through his music. Along with his dedication to empowering youth, Transparent also uses the medium of television to present the gospel. He is the Co-Host/ Presenter for Fusemix T.V. During the Gospel Music Awards Week 2009, Transparent interviewed artist: Canton Jones, Michelle Bonilla, J.R., Vlada, Norman Hutchins and Cowboy Dan. Wherever you find Transparent, be it ministering through music, sharing his life on “Transparent T.V.” or just speaking into the lives of the youth he encounters, it is relevant that throughout these great accomplishments, his focus remains the same, which is to “Advance the Kingdom one second at a time.”

Photobucket WORDsmith is an Ordained Minister who reaches across the region preaching in Juvenile Detention Facilities, Adult Prison’s, High School Campuses, Youth Centers, Church’s and all types of outreaches. He is currently the minister of the Solano County Juvenile Detention Facility who facilitates community outreach and programs that provide intervention for the youth. He has a strong connection to the community as he goes from Church to Church to unite the Body of Christ and bring the most effective youth leaders into the insitution to turn trouble into testimony. He is connected with the Probation Department in a vibrant way as he mentors youth who are ordered from the courts as well as Probation Officers to attend. He is a Chaplain in the Solano County Jails providing powerful proclamations and the opportunity for programming when released. He was selected in 2010 as the recepient of the Youth Ministry Award given by the Juvenile Justice Commission and Congress for his service and sacrifice to the community and to the youth.

Today WORDsmith is the street team director for the House of Slap Radio who provides many services to this dynamic delivery of the Gospel. He provides a real and relevant word within the show hosted by Dj Anointed and Transparent and provides the community updates known as the “Street Shout Outs”. He takes House of Slap Radio from “Hood to Hood” reaching the unreachable and teaching the unteachable with a radical street team known as Operation T.H.U.G.S. He has assisted them in creating this awesome approach to reaching into the community and illustrating the care of Christ. The mission statement for WORDsmith is simply “to shine his light in every dark place from the Pulpit to the Pavement and all the way into the Prison’s” … God be praised !!!
